Volkswagen has a reputation as the car company that makes German engineered vehicles affordable. Despite that standing, the firm is not without issues. In 2015, the company admitted it deliberately programmed some car systems to get around emission control regulations. Eleven million vehicles wound up recalled worldwide.
Ford recently announced a recall for over 500,000 Escape and Fusion vehicles for rollaway concerns. The affected vehicles include the 2013 and 2014 Ford Escape and 2013 through 2016 Ford Fusion. Ford discovered that a bushing that attaches to the shifter cable can degrade and detach. When the shifter cable bushing detaches, the vehicle may not be in the gear showing on the gear selector.
