Loss of Power and Electronic Throttle Control Problems in Ram EcoDiesel 1500 Trucks

FCA has a severe problem with the 2015 and 2016 Ram EcoDiesel 1500 trucks, and it goes way beyond the current class action for emissions cheating. My clients have been into dealerships with their Ram EcoDiesel 1500 trucks in limp mode or severe loss of power, check engine light on and the service electronic throttle control error message. This would be bad enough as a one-time issue, but these trucks have been in the shop in 3, 4 or more times for the exact same problem.

Some Chrysler dealerships have tried to blame driver habits, claiming that the trucks were not driven enough miles on a regular basis. This is simply not true because my clients with trucks driven a large number of miles per week have the exact same issue as the lower mileage trucks.

Another excuse heard from dealerships is that the problems are due to bad or Contaminated fuel. If your dealership tries to blame bad fuel for these problems with your truck, tell them you want to see a printout of the fuel analysis. Usually when the Contamina ted fuel excuse is used for this and many other problems, the dealership never actually tested the fuel and just looked at it and decided on their own that it was bad. “Contaminated fuel” is usually a dealership’s way of saying they do not know how to fix a problem and they are tired of trying.

One repair that seems to make somewhat of a difference is replacement of the injectors under warranty. Not cleaning the injectors but replacement. This has been by no means a permanent repair, but seems to keep these problematic trucks on the road a little longer until the next breakdown.

When you spend $30,000, $40,000 or $50,000 in a new truck, you expect that truck to be reliable. If your 2015 or 2016 EcoDiesel Ram 1500 truck has been in the shop 3 or more times for the check engine light on, loss of power or limp mode or the service electronic throttle control message, contact Roseman Law Firm at 1-800-745-5259 or go to www.helpforlemoncars.com to find out your rights for free under the lemon laws.
